With the latest legislative arrangement, all driver’s license procedures were taken from the responsibility of the General Directorate of Security and transferred to the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs. One has to make an appointment with the following documents:
• Turkish translation of your driver’s license obtained from the notary,
• Your ID
• Health report of “able to drive”
• Proof of document of your blood type
• Biometric photo
• Criminal record
• The receipt that you have paid the driver’s license, fee, and foundation share fee,

The class of your driver’s license will be determined upon the scope of your foreign driver’s license corresponding to the Turkish equivalence. If your foreign driver’s license is a car driving license, you will be issued a class B driver’s license, which is the equivalent of a Turkish license.
